Thomas B. Smith, CLU, ChFC, 89 Thomas B. Smith, CLU, ChFC, 89, of Mantoloking, NJ, formerly of Princeton Junction, NJ, passed away peacefully on 2.19.16 in Naples, FL. Born in Rocky Hill, NJ, he spent most of his life in the Princeton Junction area before moving to Moorestown, NJ. He was the loving husband of 65 ½ years to Deborah Jane Smith (nee Gilliland), loving father to Judy Smith Cooper, Kathy Smith Bogle, grandfather to Lindsay Cooper Scoville, Stephanie Cooper Price, Thomas Reese Bogle, Brian Michael Bogle, Jeffrey Scott Bogle, and great grandfather to Henry Alexander Scoville, Cooper Thomas Scoville and Josephine Sunshine Price. He graduated from Leicester College as a football letterman, was a World War II Veteran, serving in the US Coast Guard, a Deacon at The First Presbyterian Church of Dutch Neck, member of the Lions Club and served as President of the United Way. He was a Manager with Prudential Insurance Company for 34 years, earning over 55 awards for sales and leadership, and authored 2 books, “If It Is To Be, It Is Up To Me” and “Character & Leadership: Pillars of Success”. Throughout his life, he had many hobbies and interests including playing golf, cards, Sudoku and Parcheesi, boating on the Barnegat Bay, and watching the New York Mets. He will always be remembered for his positive outlook on life. There will be a private memorial at the request of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
