Rutgers holds performance fest and open studios April 29

The Mason Gross Visual Arts Department will host a free performance festival, sculpture exhibit, and open studios headlined by Andrew Brehm and Sarah Mattes, as well as New Brunswick’s Patricia Brace. The event is set for April 29 and is open to the public.

The OPEN: LIPS/LAB Festival, Volume II festival will take place from 4-8 p.m. on April 29 at 39 Road 3 on Livingston Campus. All events are free. The festival will include access to 10 MFA student studio spaces, a display of undergrad student sculptures (among them, work by Louis Ardine of Red Bank), as well as performances by graduate and undergraduate students and visiting artists. Activities will take place on Livingston Campus in Piscataway, at the Livingston Arts Building (LAB) and the neighboring Livingston Installation and Performance Space (LIPS), a cross between a barn and a gymnasium.

The schedule is as follows:
4-6 p.m. – Sculpture shows throughout LAB and LIPS; open studios; music.
6-8 p.m. – Performance program at LIPS with Andrew Brehm, Sarah Mattes, and Patricia Brace.
