Throughout New Jersey, across the nation, and overseas, shop windows, streets and buildings are going pink in May. Davis Realtors’ Ocean Township office has joined the mission again in 2016 to encourage women to get their annual mammogram.

“Last year we were surprised when we finished third in the window display contest. We were also able to make a donation,” said Phyllis Garden, broker/manager. “This year we are raising the bar and hope to double our donation to the Pink Fund. Winning the window display contest would be nice, too.”

It takes a village to achieve the mission of Paint the Town Pink, and every year that village has grown with more towns and even more supporters helping to spread the word that early detection is a woman’s best defense against breast cancer. In 2016, Paint the Town Pink celebrates its 10-year anniversary with 51 participating Pink Towns.

Every year in May, women visiting Pink Partner businesses learn about the importance of early detection and annual mammography, and if they choose, support another woman’s mammography through the Pink Fund.

“We encourage our neighbors to check out our windows, get information, and stop in to chat. We will have our Pink Fund Bank available for donations large or small through May 31,” according to Sari McGuinness, relocation coordinator at Davis. “We’re easy to find. Just look for the really pink windows in Middlebrook Plaza next to the Mysha Spa at 810 Deal Road, Ocean Township, this month. We hope everyone will visit http://paintthetownpink.com and vote for their favorite window; maybe it will be ours!”
