Four Hillsborough fire companies rallied after midnight to fight a fire at a home on Beekman Lane.
Police said they responded at 12:27 a.m. Wednesday to the home of Steve Kanellos on Beekman Lane at New Center Road and found the front porch on fire, with damage spreading to the roofline.
When police arrived, the home had already been evacuated.
The four fire companies that cover Hillsborough — Neshanic, Woods Road, Route 206 and Flagtown — all fought the fire. Rescue Squad Unit 79 was on site, too.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the township police and the township Office of Fire Safety.
