Museum honors the veterans of the American Civil War

The Township of Ocean Historical Museum, 703 Deal Road, Ocean, will honor American Civil War veterans at a flag-raising ceremony on the Woolley House grounds at 6:30 p.m. on July 30. The museum will also be open for those attending to come in and see current exhibits.

Please call the museum at 732-531-2136, email oceanmuseum@verizon.net or sign up on-line at www.oceanmuseum.org/CivilWarFlagHonorsSignUp.html to arrange for a loved one to be honored. The focus is on local veterans, but all are welcome who wish to be remembered.

The Eden Woolley House, is one of the few 18th century structures still in existence in the Township and is open to the public on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays (1 p.m.-4 p.m.), Thursday evenings (7 p.m.-9 p.m.) and the first and second Sundays of each month (1p.m.-4 p.m.).
