Playhouse 22, East Brunswick’s community theater, will hold open auditions for its upcoming production of “Frost/Nixon,” written by Peter Morgan, 7:30 p.m. Aug. 15 and 16 at the theater, in the East Brunswick Community Arts Center, 721 Cranbury Road. Callbacks, if necessary, will be held Aug. 18.

The play, which will be directed by Jeff Seesselberg, is part of the theater’s On the Edge series, designed as an opportunity for directors to present lesser-known or smaller works and to emphasize the play and the acting over more technical theatrical elements. The performance space will be the community room at the theater, which will be transformed into a black-box space with stage lighting and sound.

Individuals interested in auditioning are asked to bring a short, one-minute monologue (sides from the script also will be provided) and a brief story or personal anecdote about themselves that they can speak about at length. Tryouts will be on a first-come basis. Appointments are not required. Show dates will be Oct. 14-23.
