The Matawan Italian American Association awarded two $1,000 scholarships to Nicole Delaney and Michele Palermo on June 27.
Delaney is the granddaughter of Vic Castellano. She is a graduate of Red Bank Regional High School and will be attending Rowan University to pursue a career in accounting as a certified public accountant.

Palermo is the granddaughter of Josephine Collini. She is a graduate of St. Joseph By the Sea High School in Staten Island, New York. She will be attending the College of Staten Island to pursue a career in medical technology as a neuroscientist.
