Individuals interested in helping children in foster care are invited to join Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Middlesex County for an information session on Sept. 12 from 6-7 p.m. The session will be held at the CASA office, located at 77 Church St, New Brunswick.

CASA volunteers are appointed by a judge to speak for a child’s best interests. They meet regularly with the child and research the child’s circumstances with the goal of securing a safe and permanent home for the child as quickly as possible. CASA volunteers come from all walks of life, with no special background needed. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and pass background checks.
