Neve Shalom, 250 Grove Ave., Metuchen, will celebrate Jewish book month by holding a special tea party for children, ages 5 and over, and their favorite doll, from noon-2 p.m. on Nov. 6. While enjoying light refreshments, guests will learn about Rebecca Rubin, an American Girl® historic character, who grew up on New York City’s Lower East Side in 1914, during the peak of America’s immigration period. The afternoon includes jewelry crafting for the child and their doll, a fashion parade starring the children and their companions, and photos with props will be taken. The afternoon will also include other games and prizes. This event is open to the community. The price per ticket for child, adult and doll is $25.
