The Princeton High boys soccer team earned a share of the Mercer County Tournament title with a 1-1 tie against Pennington on Thursday night at The College of New Jersey.
Meanwhile, the Princeton Day School girls soccer team fell just short of a county title when the Panthers dropped a 2-1 decision to Hopewell Valley in the MCT final.
The Princeton boys trailed, 1-0, when Dean Patel scored off an assist from Drew Beamer to tie the game with 13 minutes left in regulations. The teams played a pair of scoreless overtime frames and shared the title.
Patrick Jacobs made six saves in goal for the Little Tigers, who are 17-1-1.
The PDS girls trailed 2-0 when a goal by Damali Simon-Ponte pulled the Panthers to within a goal. But PDS would get no closer and suffered its first loss of the season to fall to 15-1-2.
The Panthers are scheduled to play in the state Prep B tournament semifinals on Friday and with a win would host the Prep B final on Sunday.
