Freeholders to organize for 2017

The Monmouth County Board of Freeholders will organize for 2017 at 4 p.m. Jan. 5 at Biotechnology High School, 5000 Kozloski Road, Freehold Township. The meeting is open to the public.

On the agenda will be the swearing in of Thomas A. Arnone and Serena DiMaso as members of the board of freeholders, Shaun Golden as Monmouth County sheriff and Rosemarie D. Peters as Monmouth County surrogate, according to a press release.

Also on Jan. 5, the freeholders will hold a Sine Die meeting at 11 a.m. in the second floor meeting room of the Hall of Records, Freehold Borough.

This meeting is held to conclude financial and other business matters for 2016. The Latin term sine die means the final adjournment of a legislative session, without adjourning to a specific time or date; literally it means “adjournment without a day.” The term is most commonly used to signify the final adjournment of a session of Congress or state Legislature, according to the press release.
