Alzheimer’s disease, dementia support group to meet Feb. 1

Millennium Memory Care at Matawan will hold a free Alzheimer’s disease and dementia support group from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Feb. 1 at its facility at 447 Matawan Ave., Matawan.

The care facility is offering a new and free group therapy session to discuss the basics of understanding Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, being able to read early warning signs, detecting disease progression and finding practical solutions for caregivers.

Strategies will be shared by families and caregivers of patients with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia. Topics will include support, safety, everyday care, adapting activities, planning ahead and more.
