Each year the Rotary Club of New Brunswick participates in the Dictionary Project. The Rotary Club orders a student dictionary for all third grade students in 13 elementary schools in Highland Park, New Brunswick and North Brunswick.

On a pre-arranged date and time, volunteers from the Rotary Club go to a school and meet with all of the third graders in that school. This year’s Dictionary Project took place prior to the 2016 winter break.

During the assembly program, the students are informed about what Rotary is and the work it does in their community and throughout the world. This is followed with an interactive session where the students are given a dictionary to keep, and the pupils give examples of how the dictionary helps them in school. Various dictionary activities are then done with the students.
