Coming to a decision on where to live is never easy. There are so many factors to take into account; and especially when two people are involved in the decision. Luckily, for Debbie and Jeff Brier, K. Hovnanian’s® Four Seasons at Monmouth Woods provided the perfect balance.

“My husband, Jeff, really wanted to move to Florida! I didn’t want to move far away, I wanted to stay in the area – near our friends and family,” Debbie explained. “When we came across K. Hovnanian’s® Four Seasons at Monmouth Woods and saw it was in a great location – so serene – it worked.”

The new 55+ community in Howell Township offers beautiful single-family homes, with an appealing low-maintenance, resort-like lifestyle. For Debbie and Jeff, everything about the community just made sense. “The location is lovely. It’s so serene here and the community is so warm and inviting,” Debbie said. She went on to explain what led them to their new home. “We loved the newness of the community, that was very appealing. Plus, Jeff was tired of all of the upkeep – mowing the lawn and shoveling snow and trimming trees. We were looking for something smaller, something with fewer steps; we really needed a master down, everything on the first floor.”

At K. Hovnanian’s® Four Seasons at Monmouth Woods, buyers can choose from 12 different single-family floorplans, including four loft-style and eight ranch-style designs. Homes feature up to 3,664 square feet of living space, with two or three bedrooms, and are priced from the low-$400s (subject to change). The selection includes some brand-new floorplans that have never been offered at any of K. Hovnanian’s® communities in New Jersey. All homes within the community are subject to an age restriction whereby the homes are restricted to use and occupancy by at least one person of age 55 years or over, and with no permanent resident being under the age of 19.

The Briers chose the Monterey Loft model, a two-story home with three bedrooms and three baths, which they anticipate moving into this month. Among other features, their new home will include a designer kitchen with ample cabinet space, a spacious owner’s suite with large closets and lots of windows, and beautiful fireplace options. “I adored it,” Debbie commented. “We loved the extra space the loft provides, which will make family visits much easier. The model just fit all of our needs.”

Homeowners will appreciate having easy access to Route 9, with its many major retail chains, as well as Routes 33 and I-195, the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway. A NJ Transit® Park and Ride bus terminal is nearby, providing direct service into New York City. New Jersey’s second largest mall, Freehold Raceway Mall, is also nearby, with over 225 retailers. The community is close to premier outlet centers at the Jersey Shore and Jackson Premium Outlets. Nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate being close to the Manasquan Reservoir County Park and several other local parks.

  1. Hovnanian’s® Four Seasons at Monmouth Woods will feature a 6,900-square-foot clubhouse with an outdoor pool, a kiddie pool for the grandchildren, a putting green, tennis courts, pickle ball, bocce ball courts, and more. Residents will be able to participate in a number of clubs, social activities and events – all of which appealed to Debbie and Jeff. “We meet more and more people every time they have an event here and everyone is so friendly!” Debbie commented. “We’ve been going to dinner with two couples. One woman we met invited us into her home to show us how she remodeled her closet; I’m going to have the same thing done for ours now!”

As they prepare to move from Scotch Plains and into their new home, the Briers are finding it all shaping up to a be very positive experience. “You might start this process and maybe have some preconceived notions,” Debbie reflected. “But everyone has been so positive and flexible and always caring. It makes such a big difference. Everyone makes us feel like we’re all in it together. Cathy Garma was our sales representative and she is amazing! Everyone here loves her! She knows all the answers to our questions – the home-related questions and even Jeff’s more technical questions. Even in the Design Center, we didn’t feel any pressure and everyone was so great. We’re both so happy about where we are.”
