Stomp the Monster to host gala March 3

Stomp the Monster, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides financial and other support to cancer patients, their families and caregivers, will host its sixth annual “Life is Sweet” gala benefit on March 3 at The Addison Park in Aberdeen Township.

Festivities will begin at 7 p.m. with a cocktail reception, followed by dinner and dancing to live music. The gala features BidPal mobile bidding for auctions, limited chance raffles, gift baskets and a 50/50 raffle, all to support Stomp the Monster’s grants and activities that enable cancer patients to focus on treatment to stomp out their cancer, according to a press release.

Tickets are available to the public and may be purchased at stompthemonster.org

A recognition ceremony will honor one individual for her inspirational and uplifting work to stomp out cancer. The 2017 honoree will be Deb Turi-Smith, who is a patient and family support social worker at CentraState Healthcare System, Freehold Township.

Stomp the Monster is honoring Turi-Smith for her inspiration to the community, while exhibiting strength, bravery and a positive attitude toward others when they need it most, according to the press release.

In addition, Stomp the Monster’s Volunteer of the Year will be surprised that evening with his/her honor.
