JACKSON – Parents of incoming kindergartners in the Jackson School District are being encouraged to begin completing registration information now while they prepare to come in for the district’s kindergarten roundup registration from March 20-24.

Kindergarten registration packets contain important information and forms that must be filled out, including an immunization form that must be finalized before students can be registered, according to a press release.

Forms may be filled out using the school district’s new online pre-registration system or by completing a traditional paper packet.

“This new online pre-registration process allows parents and guardians to fill out a good portion of the registration information online,” Jackson School District Coordinator of Communications Allison Erwin said. “It will streamline the process and will save parents time during their kindergarten registration appointment time.”

All information is on the district website at www.jacksonsd.org under the For Parents and Students’ tab and the Registering Your Child link. The packets are available for download and can also be picked up at any elementary school, according to the press release.

Parents will bring completed registrations to their school during Kindergarten Registration Week which will take place from March 20-24 from 9:30-11:30 a.m.

Parents/guardians are asked to come on the date that corresponds to the first letter of their last name: March 20, last names starting with A-C; March 21, last names starting with D-H; March 22, last names starting with I-M; March 23, last names starting with N- R; and March 24, last names starting with S-Z.

More information about proof of residency and immunization requirements is available on the website. Parents are reminded to bring their children with them when they register, according to the press release.
