Main Street vehicle safety inspection complete in South River

SOUTH RIVER – The South River Police Department (SRPD), in partnership with the N.J. Motor Vehicle Commission, took advantage of the weather this morning, Feb. 24, and conducted vehicle safety inspections on Main Street.

The purpose of the inspection was to identify various vehicular safety violations including but not limited to: uninspected motor vehicles, unapproved motorcycle helmets, unapproved vehicle equipment, cracked windshields, loud exhaust, improper color of lamps and non-functioning mandatory vehicle equipment, according to a statement prepared by the SRPD.
