Award winner has musical, athletic talents

NORTH BRUNSWICK – Megan Farrell has been selected as the Scholar Athlete Artist for March by the North Brunswick Department of Parks, Recreation & Community Services.

Megan is in the seventh grade at Linwood Middle School (LMS). She has been the recipient of both High Honor Roll and Honor Roll. She is a two-year member of the LMS Student Council as a homeroom representative.

Megan is a two-year starter on the LMS Girls Basketball Team where she plays center, forward and shooting guard. She plays travel basketball for North Brunswick and the Central Jersey Basketball League, where she has been team captain for three years. She played one year AAU Basketball with the Central Jersey Hawks organization.

Megan is also a two-year player on the LMS Girls Soccer Team, playing goalie and defense, and is a six-year travel soccer player. She is a six-year travel softball player where she plays first base, third base and catcher.

Megan currently plays the flute and the bassoon for the LMS band.

She volunteers for the North Brunswick Township Buddy Ball Program for both soccer and basketball. She also assists younger children with the fundamentals of basketball within the travel basketball program.
