NORTH BRUNSWICK — Police are reminding residents to not leave valuables in their vehicles and also to lock their car doors after cars were targeted two weekends in a row.
During the early morning hours of March 14, a resident of Dallas Road in North Brunswick reportedly observed an unfamiliar male standing near his neighbor’s car, according to a statement prepared by the North Brunswick Police Department (NBPD).
A patrol officer walking the area reportedly observed an individual matching the description provided. The subject allegedly ran, with the officer giving chase through the snow. The subject was eventually captured on Sherman Road.
Jarred Robinson, 25, of Somerset, has been charged with multiple counts of burglary, theft, obstruction and possession of a weapon (knife). He was allegedly found to be in possession of many stolen items, apparently taken during multiple car burglaries that morning in the areas of Wood Avenue, Stockton Drive and Route 130.
It appears all items were removed from unlocked vehicles, according to the statement.
Then, on March 18 and 19, additional vehicle break ins were mainly reported in the Colonial Gardens section of the township, specifically Revere Road, Williamson Road, Jackson Drive and Lynn Court, according to new information provided by the NBPD.
Police stated that the vehicles in question were unlocked, according to the report.
No suspect had been identified as of press time.
