Middletown Library announces children’s programming for April

The Middletown Public Library, 55 New Monmouth Rd., Middletown, will hold a series of children’s programs for April.

All programs require registration unless noted otherwise. Register for events at http://www.mtpl.org/ or by phone at 732-671-3700 ext. 340.

The new programs are:

Pajama Storytime on April 6 at 6:30 p.m. – A special story time to put you in the best mood for sleeping so come in your pajamas if you like.

Snapology Scientists on April 10 at 10:30 a.m. (ages 4-6) and 11:30 a.m. (ages 6 and up) – Encourage your child to love science and nature by becoming a scientist. Students will engage in building concepts related to everyday life from astronomy, earth science, biology, chemistry, and physics using LEGO® bricks and other interactive learning tools.

Star Party Astronomy Event on April 10 at 7:30 p.m. (Rain date April 11) – S.T.A.R. Astronomy Group will be on hand in our back-parking lot with professional telescopes for excellent sky viewing. It’s a great way to spend time with family while learning a new science. Do not forget to register for this event.

Teddy Bear Tea on April 13 at 11 a.m.- Bring your teddy or other favorite toy animal or doll to our teddy bear Tea. We’ll have songs, stories, games, and good things to eat.

Bilbo’s Journey: A Hobbit’s Story on  April 13 at 6:30 p.m.- Traveling Lantern Theatre Company will perform “Bilbo’s Journey.” It is a grand story of peril, wonder and daring. Everyone loves the cherished tale of a home loving little Hobbit who finds himself on an adventure he could never have imagined.

Drop in programs:

Homework help, develop a skill or drop in for fun creative crafts. We offer Lapsit Storytime for pre-walkers, Kids Playgroup, Simply Storytime, Math Tutoring and Reading Buddies, Lego building, and chess.
