South River police seize eight bricks of heroin

SOUTH RIVER – Members of the South River Police Department located more than eight bricks of heroin totaling 425 decks as well as drug paraphernalia.

At approximately 7 a.m. May 11, officers executed a Superior Court-approved search warrant upon a residence on Whitehead Avenue as a result of a narcotics investigation conducted by the South River Police Department Detective Bureau.

The resident, a 31-year-old male, was charged with possession of and possession with the intent to distribute heroin, possession with the intent to distribute heroin within 500 feet of a park (Edward Grekoski Park) and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to information provided by the South River Police Department.

After processing, the man was transported to the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in North Brunswick pending a court date.
