NORTH BRUNSWICK – Trustees of The Aubrey Foundation recently presented a check for $1,500 to Make-A-Wish New Jersey in Monroe to support the organization’s mission to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.

The Aubrey Foundation contribution is one of several distributions from proceeds of the second annual Purple for Pappas 5K race, which took place in October at Linwood Middle School. More than 500 runners and walkers participated in the event, which also raised funds for scholarships for North Brunswick Township High School students, according to information provided by the foundation.

The third annual 5K is scheduled for Oct. 22 at North Brunswick Community Park.

The race celebrates the life and legacy of long-time North Brunswick teacher Aubrey Pappas, who was killed with her unborn son in a tragic automobile accident in October 2014.
