All three police officers will be assigned to the Uniform Services Division of the police department.
De Blasio, who graduated from the Ocean County Police Academy in May 2016, obtained an associate of arts degree at Brookdale Community College and is currently attending Rutgers University to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. He was previously a Police Officer in North Hanover Township.
Scalese, who graduated from the Ocean County Police Academy in May 2015, obtained a bachelor of science degree in Criminal Justice at East Stroudsburg University in August 2013. He previously was a Class II Special Law Enforcement Officer with the Stafford Township Police Department.
Whalen, who graduated from the Ocean County Police Academy in May 2015, obtained a bachelor of arts degree in Criminal Justice at Kean University in May 2013. He was previously a Police Officer in Riverton Borough.
Mayor Mironov welcomed the large number of police officers in attendance to support the new police officers.
"I congratulate these new police officers who have the good career fortune to join an outstanding professional and community caring organization of officers under the leadership of Chief Geary and our superior ranked officers," she said.
