The United Methodist Church (UMC) of Greater New Jersey has appointed Cyndi Stouffer as pastor of the New Brunswick UMC.
Stouffer, a North Brunswick resident, has served the Pearl River UMC for six years and Suffern UMC for two years.
She has a Master’s in Divinity from Drew Theological School and a
background in music education and worship leading.
New Brunswick UMC is a multi-cultural congregation that represents more than 30 different nations, with flags from those nations decorating the sanctuary.
Current ministries include the local food ministry Elijah’s Promise, a homeless men’s shelter, afterschool tutoring at an elementary school, garden beds offered to New Brunswick residents at
Shiloh gardens, and opening the Education Building to Narcotics Anonymous meetings and to a preschool throughout the year.
The church draws congregants from Middlesex, Somerset, Hunterdon, Mercer, Monmouth and counties up north.
