With the new school year underway, the Old Bridge Library will offer programs on college admissions and online tutoring this month.
There will be an informational session on the resources provided by Tutor.com, the online tutoring resource the library offers its patrons, at 6 p.m. on Sept. 26. In addition to 24-hour online resources such as worksheets and quizzes, the site offers live professional tutors from 4-11 p.m. daily. Assistance is available for basic elementary school level classes all the way through advanced high school courses, in 40 different areas, including math, science, literature, essay writing and history. Tutors can also help with SAT and ACT preparation. This session will examine how students and parents can best use the resource.
Carol Freedman will lead an informative workshop entitled “College Admission: Myth and Magic” at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 28. It will focus on the positive assets and attributes that can assist in college admission, and correct any misinformation regarding the admissions process.
The library is located at 1 Old Bridge Plaza at the corner of Route 516 and Cottrell Road in the Municipal Center.
