Santa Claus helped do the honors Friday at the annual Christmas tree lighting in Palmer Square.
“Are you ready?” he called out to the throng standing in the chilly air waiting for the 32,000 lights to come on the 65-foot-tall Norwegian Spruce.
The annual ceremony drew a larger than normal crowd, according to Princeton Police, who could not give an estimate of the number of people attending. The crowd was entertained by music before the main event.
The lights came on at 5:35 p.m., after a moment’s hesitation.
