Woodbridge warns of car burglaries

WOODBRIDGE — Police are warning residents and the public to lock their vehicle doors after a rash of car burglaries and thefts occurred during the week of Thanksgiving.

Police reported on Nov. 28 that numerous car burglaries and thefts have occurred in the Village Drive area located in the Avenel section of the township and in sections of Colonia in the areas of Sherwood Road, Midwood Road, Sycamore Road and Longfellow Drive.

Police Capt. Roy Hoppock said residents are encouraged not to leave anything of value in their vehicle and to lock their car doors.
