ENGLISHTOWN – The Freehold Regional High School District is seeking a resident of Englishtown to represent the borough on the Board of Education that oversees the operation of six high schools in the district.

Elizabeth Canario, who joined the board in 2009 and was re-elected several times as Englishtown’s representative, resigned from the board in December because she is relocating.

Anyone who is interested in being appointed to the vacant seat must be a resident of Englishtown and should submit a resume and a written statement describing how they will contribute to the success of the school district no later than 4 p.m. Jan. 31.

The school district’s administrative offices are at 11 Pine St., Englishtown.

The appointment will be for 2018. The person who is appointed to the seat, or any other qualified resident of Englishtown, may run in the November school election to serve the final year (2019) of Canario’s term.

The regional district operates high schools in Colts Neck, Freehold Borough, Freehold Township, Howell, Manalapan and Marlboro. Students from those six towns, plus Englishtown and Farmingdale, are enrolled in the district.
