East Brunswick Woman’s Club supports the community through various efforts

EAST BRUNSWICK – The East Brunswick Woman’s Club has donated thousands of dollars worth of funds and goods throughout the past year.

Through the Holiday Angels program, members donated 160 gifts for deployed National Guard children. “Boatsie’s Boxes” members filled 120 holiday stockings that were sent to deployed veterans.

Monthly food donations to local banks were valued at more than $2,000.

The Ronald McDonald House in New Brunswick collected 50 pounds of metal tabs that are recycled and then help pay for relatives of ill children.

Women Aware members donated 166 gifts valued at $2,800 for children and mothers staying at shelters during the holidays; 350 large and small toiletries, totaling $700; 85 coats and six sweaters to Aldersgate Crisis Room, valued at $1,900; and puzzles, cards, books and games for the Garden State Youth Correctional Correctional Facility in Bordentown.

The holiday dinner/raffle raised $945 to buy gift cards for local needy families during the holidays.

The Woman’s Club also gives scholarships to local girls, the Florida Relief Fund, Camp Daisy, local rescue squads, Elijah’s Promise, Operation Smile, local VFWs, Arbor Day tree donations and Fast Break Buddy Ball.
