For the second year in a row, Monmouth Film Festival, in partnership with Monmouth Arts Council, will hold workshops focused on the art of filmmaking at the 2018 Monmouth Teen Arts Festival. These workshops are catered towards teenage aspiring artists, providing them with a peek behind the scenes of their favorite Hollywood movies.

The Monmouth Film Festival educational workshop is March 15-16 at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft.

“With Monmouth Arts’ support, we continue to raise the bar in educating teenage aspiring artists and creators with innovative workshops,” said Nicholas Marchese, president and director of Monmouth Film Festival. “Our second year of hosting this educational workshop further underscores our mission to deliver a welcoming environment for young filmmakers to explore their craft and hear valuable insight from industry professionals.”

On March 19, Monmouth Film Festival and Two River Theater are partnering for the second time this year for a special film screening, panel discussion, and question-and-answer session of John Ford’s “The Quiet Man”. This is done as part of the theater’s Inside Two River program, a series of arts and humanities events, specially curated for an upcoming stage production of theirs.

The screening is taking place in advance of Two River Theater’s production of “Dancing at Lughnasa”, taking the stage in April. The previous Inside Two River screening was of Alfred Hitchcock’s “Shadow of a Doubt” in conjunction with Two River’s production of Thornton Wilder’s “The Bridge of San Luis Rey”.

“Monmouth Film Festival and Two River Theater are focused on creating an engaging experience that fans of film, theatre and the arts will not get anywhere else,” Marchese said. “By working together, we’re connecting the diverse arts communities in new and different ways.”

In an effort to expand their year-round mission to educate and engage filmmakers and moviegoers alike, Monmouth Film Festival is partnering with the Holmdel Public Library System for a new venture, Monmouth Film 360.

The free monthly program will showcase films adapted from works of literature, followed by a discussion and workshop, and will cater to film lovers of all ages. The series is set to begin in April at the Holmdel Public Library, which has recently relocated to the Bell Works complex in Holmdel.

These special screenings and workshops all lead up to the third annual Monmouth Film Festival to be held Aug. 10-12 at Two River Theater in Red Bank. Early submissions are currently being accepted in a number of categories.
