Realtor collecting items for the homeless

Michael Anderson of Weichert, Realtors’ Middletown office is spearheading a collection drive to benefit the homeless.

The 2006 Monmouth United Sting, a boys’ travel soccer team in Middletown coached by Anderson, has joined forces with Blessing Bag Brigade, whose mission is to bring “blessing bags” to the homeless in New York City, Asbury Park, Newark and other areas.

Needed items include travel-size toothbrushes, toothpaste, lotion, shampoo, disposable razors, soap/body wash, lip balm, socks, small water bottles and snack foods such as soft breakfast bars. Donated items should be unisex and travel size.

Items will be accepted through April 8 at Weichert, Realtors, 1008 Route 35, Middletown. The office is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
