Hackensack Meridian Health Raritan Bay Medical Center-Old Bridge will hold a stroke awareness event from 2-3 p.m. on June 7 in Auxiliary Hall Room C, 2 Hospital Plaza, Old Bridge.

Eric J. Uhrik will discuss the signs, symptoms, risk factors and what you should do if someone is having a stroke. Registration is required by calling 1-800-560-9990.

The Institute of Weight Loss will offer “Is Weight Loss Surgery Right for Me?” from 7-8 p.m. on June 11 and 13, and from 7:30-8:30 p.m. on June 27. The informative event will focus on weight loss surgery including discussion on Roux-En-Y Gastric Bypass, Adjustable Gastric Banding and Gastric Sleeve, and concerns surrounding weight loss surgery as well as its successes. Family and friends are welcome. The meeting will be held in Suite 404, Medical Arts Building, 3 Hospital Plaza. Registration is required by calling 1-855-TIME-4-ME.

The Human Motion Institute will hold a total joint replacement Education session from 8-9 a.m. on June 12, 19 and 26 in the Patient Education Center, 1st Floor, Medical and Surgical Pavilion, 2 Hospital Plaza. The session is intended for patients who have been scheduled for joint replacement surgery or for those who would like to learn more about joint replacement. The Human Motion Institute will hold a cardiovascular education seminar from 2-3 p.m. on June 19 at 2 Hospital Plaza, Suite 101. Learn the link between diabetes and the risk of heart disease. Registration is required by calling 1-800-560-9990.

The Institute of Weight Loss will host a bariatric weight loss support group meeting from 6-7 p.m. on June 27. The meeting is designed for individuals who have had or are contemplating weight loss surgery, or are trying to maintain a healthy weight. Family and friends are welcome. The meeting will be held in Auxiliary Hall B, 1 Hospital Plaza, Old Bridge. Registration is required by calling 1-855-TIME-4-ME.

Outside of the hospital grounds, an exercise and metabolism education event will be held from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on June 21 at the YMCA, 1 Mannino Park Drive, Old Bridge.  Dr. Jessica Miller will discuss how cardio and strength training effects metabolism and how to leverage both to improve chronic and medical issues.
