Bonnie and Simon Levin recognized the future needs of Monmouth Medical Center, an RWJBarnabas Health facility that is located in Long Branch, when they decided to become members of the Cranmer Legacy Society after donating $500,000 to the hospital in their estate plan.
Members of the Cranmer Legacy Society expressed commitment to Monmouth Medical Center through an important form of financial support, according to a press release.
The Cranmer Legacy Society was established in honor of Ella B. Cranmer, whose estate gave Monmouth Medical Center $4.5 million. The Society honors those who have generously provided for Monmouth Medical Center in their estate plans, according to a press release.
Mrs. Levin, a cancer survivor, founded the Monmouth Medical Center Women’s Council in 1995, according to a press release.
Her husband, Simon, served on the MMC Foundation’s Board of Trustees. Together, they have a long history of financial support to the hospital and their new commitment to the hospital will further support Monmouth Medical Center Women’s Council, according to the press release.
Since the Council’s inception, nearly three million dollars has been raised for the Leon Hess Cancer Center at Monmouth Medical Center, according to the press release.
In a statement Bill Arnold, President and CEO of Monmouth Medical Center, said, “The Levins have always recognized the vital role that philanthropy plays at Monmouth Medical Center.Thanks to generous donations like the one we received from Simon and Bonnie, we’re proud that the Women’s Council continues to grow and that we are able to continue to provide state-of-the-art services for cancer diagnosis and treatment and make a positive impact on the lives of patients and families receiving care at the Leon Hess Cancer Center,” Arnold said.
“Monmouth Medical Center has always been there for us – both my husband and I have had some serious medical emergencies and the hospital has always been wonderful,” Mrs. Levin said in the statement. “Monmouth Medical Center holds a very special place in our hearts.”
