Cape May man suffers injuries after falling through skylight in Edison

EDISON — An 18-year-old man who was working on installing solar panels at an Old Post Road warehouse was injured on July 17 after he tripped and fell about 30 feet through a glass skylight, police said.

The installer, a South Seaville, Cape May County, resident was conscious and responsive when police, firefighters and EMTs arrived at Glendale Carriers Corp. at 742 Old Post Road shortly after 1:50 p.m., Police Capt. Joseph Shannon said.

The injured man was one of several workers, including his father, installing rooftop solar panels on Glendale’s warehouse. The man reportedly tripped over the skylight and toppled through it, police said.

The young man was taken Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick for treatment. Police do not know the extent of the young man’s injuries.
