The academy will culminate with a day of practical exercises where students will handle simulated motor vehicle stops, disputes and other realistic scenarios.

The academy will be held from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Thursdays, beginning Sept. 20, at police headquarters, 540 Ridge Road, Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick. There will be no class on Thanksgiving, Nov. 22. Graduation is set for Dec. 6.

Applicants must complete an application and go through a screening process. Interested community members should contact Julie Trammell at CPA@sbtnj.net. Deadline is Aug. 24.
