A Monmouth Junction resident allegedly led several teenagers on a shoplifting spree throughout South Brunswick.

Detectives conducted an investigation of several juveniles, all from Monmouth Junction, who were allegedly shoplifting at local businesses over the past three months, according to information provided by the South Brunswick Police Department. The businesses estimated the value of the stolen property was more than $1,000 during that time, police said.

Detectives discovered some of the stolen property was later allegedly purchased by the 51-year-old suspect, who was also linked to driving the juveniles to a local business in June and later purchasing stolen merchandise from one of the juveniles.

The man was charged with receiving stolen property, and was released pending his first court appearance. Three of the juveniles involved were also issued complaints for shoplifting.
