EDISON – The first-ever Vadilal International Gujarati Film Festival was held in Edison on Aug. 3-5 to promote Gujarati culture and cinema on a wider scale.

Festival director Umesh Shukla organized the screening of more than 23 films – including 12 feature films in competition, four films in a special screening, three documentaries and four short films – as well as cast appearances, question-and-answer sessions, workshops and an awards ceremony.

It is estimated that 5,000 people visited 8K Cinemas Movie City during the three days of the festival, according to information provided by Tushar Patel on behalf of the festival organization.

The 2019 festival will be held in Los Angeles; the dates should be announced by the end of the year.
