The 24-year-old Metuchen man was found dead in his home on Sept. 28. The Middlesex County Medical Examiner determined the cause of death was the result of the combined toxic effects of heroin and fentanyl, the prosecutor said.

An investigation by Detective Sgt. Robert Belluscio of the Metuchen Police Department and Detective Erik Larsen of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office determined Williams supplied the combination of heroin and fentanyl which caused the victim’s death.

Williams was previously charged on Sept. 28 with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, distribution of a controlled and dangerous substance (heroin) and possession of heroin with intent to distribute, the prosecutor said.

The two men are currently being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in North Brunswick pending an initial court appearance in Middlesex County Superior Court in New Brunswick.

Anyone with information should call Belluscio at 732-632-8500 or Larsen at 732-745-3263.
