HOLMDEL – A virtual reality experience that could revolutionize the way students learn is headed to Bell Works.
Oasis VRX, future tenant of the modern metropolis, recruited the Intel Tech Learning Lab Tour to Bell Works on Oct. 24 to provide students from across the state with one-of-a-kind educational experiences.
The pop up virtual reality experience situated in front of the “metroburb” located in Holmdel took 12 hours to set up and was visited by more than 400 students by 2 p.m. that day.
“The (virtual reality) experiences have a Smithsonian art exhibit, you can dissect a frog, you can even explore the universe – all that is in the container you see,” Scott Burns, managing partner of Oasis VRX said. “This is a tour (Intel) is doing across the country … We thought it would be great to bring the tour here where we are going to be opening our facility.
“We will offer all of these educational experiences, if not more, to students and schools to come into our facility. This could be part of a school curriculum,” Burns said.
Burns said the virtual reality facility that will be opened in January will feature more than 20 experiences. The business will integrate with the “live, work, play” theme of Bell Works.
The future tenant will have space on the first floor, which is being crafted as an indoor Main Street. Oasis VRX will be coming to Bell Works in January 2019.
According to the company, immersive technologies could help “shape the way we relax, recreate, educate our workforce and expand our minds.”
