The election results are unofficial until certified by the county.

Kasics, Taggart and Dragotta were all incumbents running for re-election.

“I would like to thank all of the voters that came out to vote. It is important that each of us uses our right to vote. I am thankful for the support and I will continue to do the best for the children of South Amboy,” Taggart said. “As for my fellow candidates, Dave Grasso and Tom Seig, I truly hope they put their names back on the ballot next year because they really have the drive and desire to do what is best for our children.”

Dragotta said, “I want to thank all the residents from South Amboy who came out to vote, and especially the ones who voted for me. I was taken back by the amount of support I was shown, but then I realize that when you do good things people notice. I am excited to start my fourth term and I look forward to working with the rest of the board members and to continue to strive for the best education and services that we can provide for the children of the South Amboy School District.”

Kasics could not be reached by press time.

The new board members will be sworn in at the board’s reorganization meeting on Jan. 2.
