NORTH BRUNSWICK – North Brunswick Township schools have been approved by the New Jersey Department of Education’s Division of Early Childhood Education to receive nearly $1 million dollars of Preschool Education Expansion Aid (PEEA) for the 2018-19 school year.

“This is exciting news as the district is able to realize a remarkable accomplishment of increasing early childhood programs without burdening the local taxpayer,” Superintendent of Schools Brian Zychowski said in a letter to the district. “The district has continued its unwavering commitment to reducing the achievement among its diverse student population. Research has supported the best approach is through early intervention within a high quality preschool program. The PEEA grant is an integral part toward attaining this goal by using grant funds to provide increased preschool opportunities for 3- and 4-year-olds.”

Special education students will continue to receive services provided at no charge to the families.

The district has partnered with Acelero Learning to expand preschool opportunities for residents of North Brunswick.

There will be announcements in the spring for families to apply for future preschool openings.
