A holiday bake sale that raises money to help children in the community will take place at AMF Strathmore Bowling Lanes in the Aberdeen Town Square Shopping Center, Route 34, Aberdeen Township, from Dec. 14-16.

The times for the bake sale are 7-10 p.m. Dec. 14, 1-8 p.m. Dec. 15 and noon to 5 p.m. Dec. 16. Residents of all communities are welcome to visit the bake sale to make a donation or to buy baked goods.

Organizers said they are looking forward to the 12th annual bake sale. Last year, approximately $9,000 was raised. The funds were used to support the Frances Foundation, the Jamie Levy Memorial Scholarship and a child in medical need in the community, according to a press release.

Since starting the annual bake sale, supporters have helped to raise almost $60,000, according to the press release.

This year, organizers will again help a local child in medical need; Skylar Migliaccio is a 4-year-old girl from Middletown who has a medulloblastoma brain tumor.

Organizers of the bake sale are also supporting the Kortney Rose Foundation, a New Jersey organization that funds research for pediatric brain tumors. The bake sale will also continue to fund the Jamie Levy Memorial Scholarship for Volunteerism and Community Service.

Class of 2019 graduating seniors from Matawan Regional High School who are planning to attend a two-year or four-year college are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Applications will be available through the school’s Guidance Office and Naviance website, according to the press release.

Volunteers are needed to bake and to donate any type of home-baked cakes, cookies and candies. Anyone interested in helping may contact Wendy Levy at wendy.s.levy@gmail.com
