The incident occurred sometime between 4:20 p.m. and 4:50 p.m. on Jan. 18. The person who reported the theft said she placed the profits from the cookie sales – approximately $500 cash and several checks – in an envelope, according to Police Capt. Scott Kuzma.

“She placed the envelope on the table, left it unattended, and later realized it was missing,” he said.

Kuzma said the detective bureau is investigating the incident.
