Manalapan Police Beat, Feb. 6

The Manalapan Police Department reported the following incidents occurring in the township:

• On Jan. 27 at 1:02 p.m., Patrolman Joseph DeFilippis responded to Greenleaf Drive, off Gordons Corner Road, to investigate an incident of vandalism. A resident of Manalapan reported that two vehicles that were parked in the street had been spray-painted with gold paint by unknown individuals sometime between 9:30 p.m. Jan. 26 and 11:30 a.m. Jan. 27.

• On Jan. 27 at 1:28 p.m., Patrolman Joseph DeFilippis responded to Thoreau Drive, off Gordons Corner Road, to investigate an incident of vandalism. A resident of Manalapan reported that a vehicle that was parked in the street had been spray-painted with gold paint by unknown individuals sometime between 2 p.m. Jan. 25 and 1 p.m. Jan. 27.

• On Jan. 27 at 2:01 p.m., Patrolman Joseph DeFilippis responded to Kipling Way, off Gordons Corner Road, to investigate an incident of  vandalism. A resident of Manalapan reported that a vehicle that was parked in the street had been spray-painted with gold paint by unknown individuals sometime between noon on Jan. 26 and 2 p.m. Jan. 27.

• On Jan. 27 at 5:30 p.m., Patrolman Matthew Meyler responded to Target, Route 9, Manalapan, in reference to a prior shoplifting incident. Target loss prevention employees reported that three unknown individuals entered the department store individually and loaded a shopping cart full of merchandise, including a Roomba automatic vacuum and Lego block sets. The suspects left the store one at a time without paying for the merchandise. The total amount of merchandise taken was approximately $1,250. Police said evidence of the individuals and the vehicle they were operating was captured on surveillance video. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call police.

• On Jan. 27 at 7:07 a.m., a Manalapan resident told police that unknown individuals stole his 2015 Black Mercedes Benz S63 from his driveway on Deepwater Circle, off Woodward Road. The vehicle was parked in the driveway from 9 p.m. Jan. 26 until it was reported stolen at 7 a.m. Jan. 27. Police said it is possible the vehicle was unlocked with a spare key inside.

• On Jan. 24 at 3:48 p.m., a Neptune resident reported that unknown individuals entered an unoccupied residence on Denise Court, off Union Hill Road, and spray-painted the walls. The damage is estimated at $1,000. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police at 732-446-4300.

• On Jan. 22 at 2:29 p.m., a female resident of Union Beach was charged with shoplifting. The individual was observed by loss prevention employees at Target, Route 9, placing $276 worth of merchandise in shopping bags and attempting to leave without paying. The individual was arrested, processed and released.
