Residents are encouraged to come out to support those struggling with drug addiction on April 16 when the Bordentown Residents Against Drugs (BRAD) will be the host to an educational event.

The annual town hall event is scheduled to take place from 6-9 p.m. at the Carslake Community Center in Bordentown City.

BRAD is a community based Municipal Alliance Program in the Bordentown City and Bordentown Township areas.

The group announced that its mission is to unite various community members together to implement awareness and prevention measures regarding the problems of alcohol and drug abuse faced by citizens.

“Tuesday evening in April every year, BRAD hosts a Town Hall/Resource Fair for the community of Bordentown to share resources on drug and alcohol information,” said BRAD member, Nell Geiger.

Geiger explained that resources are available at the event, which can include various mental health agencies, parent education on vaping, underage drinking and health risks of various drug groups.

“The evening has a flare of prevention education for our young children of the community to enjoy a strolling magician, a scavenger hunt to find your natural highs, coloring tables, music, singers and much more,” she said.

The evening is casual for families to come in, partake in free food and refreshments as well as informational packets and a chance to win a $25 gift card.

For more information about BRAD or the event, people are encouraged to contact the group at 609-254-4267.
