Brookdale scores in cybersecurity competition

Students at Brookdale Community College were among 7,500 students nationwide who participated in the online Cyber FastTrack program.

The 11 Brookdale students who participated in the program scored a state ranking of No. 6 and a national ranking of No.123 among the 5,200 colleges in the competition, according to the institution.

The SANS Institute sponsored the program and competition. The organization included Brookdale Community College among the top colleges for employers to recruit cyber talent.

“This recognition is an affirmation of the excellent work Brookdale students continue to do in the field of cybersecurity,” said Professor Michael Qaissaunee, chair of the engineering and technology program at Brookdale.

“Our students are well prepared for careers in a high-demand field that will only continue to create more opportunities in the coming years,” he said.
