Eudora Blanch Hardy Wright, 92

Eudora Blanch Hardy Wright, 92, passed away peacefully before dawn on June 1, 2019, at the Princeton Medical Center, Plainsboro, after a brief illness. A resident of the Princeton Area since 1954, she retired as a librarian at the John Witherspoon School, Princeton in 1997 after many years of service.

Mrs. Wright was born and reared in Surrey County, VA, and earned the baccalaureate degree in Library Science at Virginia State College in Petersburg. Following a brief stint on the library staff of her alma mater, she accepted a position at the reference desk at Princeton University’s Firestone Library. Before going to work for the Princeton Regional Schools, she served for a time as a librarian in Elizabeth, NJ.Mrs. Wright moved with her family to Lawrence Township in 1959, where she volunteered in several capacities, including helping to set up the community library at the Lawrence Neighborhood Service Center.She was an active member of Trinity Church in Princeton since her arrival in NJ, having transferred her church membership from the St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Petersburg. She is predeceased by her parents, Maude and Floyd Hardy of Surrey County, VA; husband, Theodore A. Wright, Sr.; son, Theodore A. Wright, Jr.; two brothers and a sister. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara J.W. Howard (M. William); two sisters, Ella Ellis of Waverly, VA and Edna Hardy of Philadelphia; three granddaughters, Tahira W. Mack, Maisha Howard and Zyanya Wright; two grandsons, Matthew Howard and Adam Howard; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.All who mourn with the family are encouraged to contribute generously to the Lawrence Township EMS and/or to the in-patient hospice program at the Princeton Medical Center. Her life will be celebrated in a private service in the Trinity Church’s Memorial Garden, Princeton.
