“In 2018, the National Retail Federation estimated that the average parent will spend $112 dollars on school supplies, and an average total of $685 on clothing, electronics, accessories and supplies,” Severo said. “Our team is really proud to be part of an organization with such a wide reach that can help alleviate these costs for families in all of its communities.”

Severo said he also is the owner of more than other Wireless Zone locations.

Along with its Spotswood location, more than 1,300 Wireless Zone and The Cellular Connection stores across the U.S are inviting local families and their children to visit participating locations to pick up a backpack filled with various school supplies, including pencils, paper, folders, a pencil box, ruler and glue, according to a prepared statement from Wireless Zone.

The giveaway event will be at 1-4 p.m. on July 21 at the Wireless Zone of Spotswood’s store, which is located at 424 Main St.

Families can also Wireless Zone’s other New Jersey locations that include: Marlboro, Flemington, Gillette, Hackettstown, Mullica Hill, Pilesgrove, Clementon, Denville, Morris Plains, Freehold, Lincroft, Pompton Plains, Brick, Clifton, Hamilton, Lawrenceville, Washington and Newton, according to Severo.

Severo said that all children are eligible with an adult present. One backpack will be given per child on a first come first serve basis.

For this year’s giveaway event, Wireless Zone of Spotswood is partnering up with The Cellular Connection and Culture of Good, according to Severo.

“Wireless Zone works with The Cellular Connection’s Culture of Good organization to identify vendors who have ample supplies and color selection at a charitable price,” Severo said.

This year marks the eighth year that Wireless Zone will be the host to this event, which has donated over 750,000 backpacks since its inception. This year, the event is on track to donate 235,000 backpacks, according to Severo.

“Our Spotswood team is just really proud to be able to take part. We are excited that Wireless Zone partners with [The Cellular Connection], as it allows us to support and give back to the communities in which we live and work,” Severo said. “Wireless Zone franchisees have been giving back through the ‘Wireless Zone Foundation for Giving’ since 2003, providing grants to a wide variety of impactful organizations. The fact that the Culture of Good is included as another partner means we can do even more.”
