Driver seriously hurt when dump truck crashes into house in South Brunswick

SOUTH BRUNSWICK – At 4:20 a.m. Aug. 14, South Brunswick dispatch received a call that a vehicle crashed into the front of the house at 3 Shelley Road.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a fully loaded dump truck in the structure with the driver heavily entrapped. The driver was trapped for 40 minutes and had to be extricated by Kendall Park Fire Department with assistance from George’s Towing. Kendall Park EMS transported the driver to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick with serious injuries, according to information provided by the South Brunswick Police Department.

Three people were inside the residence at the time of the crash. None of them were injured, according to police.

The house has been deemed uninhabitable.

South Brunswick Police Department’s Traffic Bureau is investigating the crash.
