Election results are in for Edison Township Council

EDISON – Democrats beat out the Republican opposition in the Edison Township Council election.

Incumbents Joseph A. Coyle (7,487 votes/16%) and Ajay Patil (7,055 votes/15%), were elected to their second terms, joined by newcomers Richard Brescher (7,101 votes/15%) and Joyce Ship-Freeman (7,145 votes/16%) on the Democratic side.

The Republican slate included former Councilman Wayne J. Mascola (4,630 votes/10%) and newcomers Cathleen Lynch-Kilic (4,167 votes/9%), Gerald T. Shine (4,174 votes/9%) and Maria Orchid (4,331 votes/9%).

Election results from Nov. 5 are according to the Middlesex County Board of Elections and are unofficial until certified.
